I'll have my major ambitions – Stenson

I am still yet to have a top-10 finish in a major championship so now it is time to move that on and I need to give myself the best chances to do well.

Henrik Stenson is aiming to build on his performance at the Masters in the remaining three majors of the season.

The big-hitting Swede has enjoyed a good start to the season, including second places at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championships and Qatar Masters.

And a tie for 17th at the Augusta National two weeks ago has left him in optimistic mood.

"Obviously top 10 would have been nice," said Stenson.

"I took a triple on the Saturday on 12 when I was playing well.

"I guess if you wiped that one out I would have been top 10 so it was really just one bad shot at the wrong time that proved the difference.

"I definitely played well enough for top 10 but probably not well enough to win it.

"If I had just got it going slightly different at the beginning of the week it could have been a slightly different story but I learned a lot again and I think I can come back strong in the future."

Stenson returns to European Tour action at the BMW Asian Open and is hoping to secure his first victory of 2008.

"My game is moving in the right direction but it is either your week or its not," he added.

"I am focused on the majors and want to try and get a better result than I have done in the past.

"I am still yet to have a top-10 finish in a major championship so now it is time to move that on and I need to give myself the best chances to do well."
